The Global Strategic Commodity Manager will have strong business acumen and excellent knowledge of commodity markets within electronics. The Commodity manager should be able to effectively navigate the market to help the business reach its commodity goals and coordinate the strategical sourcing work in the commodity with our different product lines, Business Units (BU), the goals are to achieve synergies across the whole HMS organization while meeting and exceeding our business demands.
The Global Strategic Commodity Manager will be responsible for establishing contracts and ensuring the cost-effective supply of a commodity category or group of commodities. Additionally, the Global Strategic Commodity Manager will be responsible for developing strategy and investigating across a high portfolio of global suppliers while initiating or participating in cross functional projects across the product management.

Your tasks and responsibilities,
• Cultivate a solid working knowledge of relevant commodity trends including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes, where are our components in their lifecycle, when should we consider re-design and migrate proactively, how can we design for duality or parallel source. This requires an active dialog with suppliers, business units and tech strategy.
• Set commodity strategy, select and contract suppliers in the field of electronic component manufacturer and other mechanic areas.
• Investigate and recommend new and/or alternate sources of supply as necessary to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues.
• Manage Sustainability supplier targets.
• Implement HMS supplier code of conduct.
• Work with supplier evaluation and act on supplier performance.
• Negotiate conditions to ensure supplier’s high performance and aggressive cost reduction.
• Drive supplier Common Agenda, secure continuous supplier partnership and contribution to Innovation.
• Deploy cost savings programs over the suppliers’ network, for long term competitiveness.
• Define innovative supply solutions to maximize purchasing efficiency.
• Supplier risk management.
• Work with emerging needs in Supply Chain.
• Carry out spend and cost analyses.
• Resolving vendor disputes and any commodity-related issues.
